Get the most out of your money with rebates and grants

Rebates

Here at Armour Shield Insulation we understand that home renovations come at a cost, but that is not a reason you should forego any of your plans. There are many rebates available through utility companies as well as grants for those renovating or building a new home, cottage or office building.

At this time, some rebate programs have been put on hold. We will update this page with new information as it comes available on any new rebates or grants for our customers.

CMHC Green Home

Borrowers can receive a partial premium refund of up to 25 per cent for buying, building or renovating for energy efficiency using CMHC-insured financing.

AffordAbility Fund

Many Ontario residents can qualify for assistance through the AffordAbility Fund to help you improve your energy efficiency with free energy-saving upgrades, which can lower your home’s energy use and your electricity bill.

CMHC Green Home Refund

The Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) is Canada’s national housing agency designed to help make housing affordable for all Canadians. In doing this, the CMHC is funding an energy-efficiency program called Green Home

Receive refunds for energy-efficient homes

To qualify for this program, borrowers must build, buy or renovate a home that meets specific building standards using CMHC-insured financing. Successful applicants may be eligible for a refund of up to 25 per cent of their insurance premiums.

For those looking to do home renovations, including spray foam insulation, your home or cottage must be assessed by a Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) qualified energy advisor before and after the efficiency improvements are made to ensure proper standards are met or exceeded.

Your Armour Shield Insulation experts can help

Here at Armour Shield Insulation we know how important an energy-efficient home can be, as there are countless benefits to your health and wellness, finances as well as reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

AffordAbility Fund Ontario

In a bid to help Ontario residents with the rising costs of electricity, the Government of Ontario has established a $100 million AffordAbility Fund to assist its electricity customers.

What can the AffordAbility Fund do for me?

Your local electric utility company is working along side the Government of Ontario to help you improve your home’s energy efficiency with free energy-saving upgrades, which can lower your home’s energy use and your electricity bill.

Some of the free upgrades you may qualify for include:

– Energy Star certified LED light bulbs
– Power bars
– Faucet aerators
– Energy Star appliances
– Home energy plans and upgrades including insulation
and weather stripping

Am I eligible for the program?

If you pay an electricity bill for a year-round residence in Ontario and don’t qualify for any low-income conservation programs, you qualify for assistance through the AffordAbility Fund.  The level of assistance you can receive however, depends on your family’s net income as well as your average monthly electric bill.

If you have further questions about the Fund, your eligibility for
the program or the services and upgrades that could be available
to you, visit AffordAbility (make link – affordabililtyfund.org),
or call 1-855-494-FUND.
